    Hello,

I am not employed in a district. How do I become a WIDA coach without going through a district?  Please advise about available funding. Thank you.

    Sincerely,

    Sandra

    Ms. Russell,

I mentioned your interest to Ms. Johnson, a Program Specialist from the DOE.  In short, she recommended you to contact the WIDA help desk(help@wida.us) or call the WIDA help desk at 866-276-7735.  In addition, she mentioned that you might want to go to www.wida.us and look at the Professional Development section to read about what it takes to become a Certified WIDA Trainer.  I hope this helps!

    Ms.  Russell,

I almost forgot...should you discover a professional development opportunity, please consider applying for GATESOL's Project/Professional Development Grant.
