CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2021 RECIPIENT, MD. RAHMAT ALI!
Who’s Eligible: Any individual whose work has contributed significantly to international understanding, cooperation, friendship, and development in Georgia. This person does not have to be a member of Georgia TESOL.
Purpose: To honor a person whose service to the public and actions go beyond the responsibilities of one’s profession and that have helped improve the welfare of humankind, including significant contributions benefiting one’s community, state, and/or nation.
Award: An award and recognition at the Georgia TESOL Annual Conference
Criteria: Nominations are examined for evidence of:
(a) clear and exemplary contribution to the localcommunity, region, and/or state that goes above and beyond normal job-related activities(b) impact of service on the local community, region, and/or state, and (c) strong commitment to international understanding and cooperation.
Nominations: Nominations can be made by any current Georgia TESOL member in good standing.
To Nominate: Nominations must be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org Please provide a brief description of the nominee and why he/she should receive this award. Please label the email with the name of the award and nominee.
Due Date: Nomination must be submitted on or before August 31st.
The Review Committee will consist of members of the GATESOL Executive Board. The Georgia TESOL executive board members will vote in a blind review of all nominations.
1. The award will be offered on a yearly basis. Anyone not selected is encouraged to apply next year.
2. The Executive Board reserves the right to award more than one recipient or may decide that no award(s) will be provided for a given year.
3. The recipient(s) will be notified and will be invited to attend the awards recognition ceremony at the the Georgia TESOL Annual Conference in October (suspended for 2020)
