GATESOL Youth Public Service Award

 

Who’s Eligible: Any young person who has contributed significantly to international understanding, cooperation, friendship, and development in Georgia.  This person does not have to be a member of Georgia TESOL.

Purpose: This award is designed to recognize a young person (18 years old or younger) who has given significant service to benefit English language learners and the international community in Georgia. 

Award: The winner of the Youth Public Service Award is recognized at the annual conference with a certificate.

Nominations:  Nominations can be made by any current Georgia TESOL member in good standing.

To N0minate: Nominations must be sent to the Grants and Awards Co-Chairperson, Jacqueline C. Ellis, at jellis@doe.k12.ga.us. Please provide a brief description of the nominee and why he/she should receive this award.

 

Due Date: Nominations must be submitted on or before May 31th.

 

The Review Committee will consist of members of the GATESOL executive board.

 

Additional Comments:

1. The award will be offered on a yearly basis.

2. The Executive Board reserves the right to award more than one recipient or may decide that no award(s) will be provided for a given year.

3. The recipient(s) will be notified in June and will be invited to attend the awards recognition ceremony at the the Georgia TESOL Annual Conference in October.

4. Any questions regarding these awards can be directed to the Awards Committee Chairpersons. (see above under “To nominate”)
