Dear colleagues,

Georgia Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (GATESOL) is excited to offer the chance for new or former members to join GATESOL and be entered in a chance to win a FREE one-year membership to International TESOL (a $95 value)!

Personally, I have been a member of International TESOL for about five years, and I find it absolutely invaluable.  Should you win the free International TESOL membership, one tip I would share from my experience is to join listservs that apply to your area. I have gotten a lot of tips and great resources over the years through TESOL lists.

In addition to the chance of winning an annual International TESOL membership, joining/renewing GATESOL includes many other benefits, such as:

•The opportunity to apply for our growing number of Grants, including two professional development and two travel grants that are currently open

Newsletters informing you of GATESOL grants, awards, conferences, best teaching practices and other news related to our field

•Registration to the annual GATESOL conference at a reduced rate (2011 Conference will be held Sept 16 and 17 in Augusta and will coincide with Augusta's Annual International Arts Festival)

•A regional representative (8 throughout Georgia) to connect you to other educators in your area

Networking opportunities through our listserv and yahoo groups

•Access to GATESOL's Journal, TESOL in Action

•Access to our member directory

In order to be eligible for the chance to win one of six free International TESOL memberships, please visit our website (www.gatesol.org) and join GATESOL online by Friday, March 4th.  Dues for a one-year GATESOL membership are just $25, and you can save even more with a two-year membership for $45. Please remember that GATESOL is your voice in our state!

Sincerely,

Julie Elmore
