Federal funding for adult education, and funding in most states, is seen as an investment in workforce preparation. However, funding is benchmarked to employment, income, and matriculation outcomes that can be difficult to capture. In this session, we will present research that shows direct impacts of publicly-funded ABE on income. But is that all that we do? Most adult educators see their program as more than simple workforce preparation.
